How to deal with terrible twos

A few days later after my little one-stop breastfeeding, his behavior changed I told myself it’s all about separation and let his negative feelings go, but it gets worst he wakes up at 3 am with a tantrum and I don’t know what he wants I offer him water but he refuses I talk to him but he wasn’t listening to me, I hug him and I Stand up carrying him to go back to sleep but nothing happens then I offer him a sandwich he said no and I decide to go to the kitchen and prepare a fast sandwich he was hungry and I remember he refused to eat dinner whatever I serve him.

After I offer a sandwich, I want to help him so I cut one bite and start to feed him he back to a tantrum again he wants to eat on his own I apologize and hug him, and let him hold his sandwich, and start to eat.

The next day I insist to feed him well before he goes to sleep, he sleeps well but he woke up with tantrums too plus I didn’t get enough sleep and feel so stressed then I remember that I am his world and he always needs my help so I put my stress set aside and take a deep breath and start to distract him sometimes I fail but at the end, it works and he was laughing.

I know that 2 years old kid has started to be more independent and be annoying when anyone interrupts him especially when he is focusing on something he wants to complete like building blocks or discovering remote control.

this age Stage is so hard because you take much time to understand what your kid needs and he started to talk with a few words and you have to guess and you will learn by try and error.

What I do at this age stage :

Note: this is not a magic list that stops anger/tantrum momentarily but needs more effort for the long term, you’ll see the results in the future.

  1. Play with him as much as you can
  2. Go out for walking and talk to him about trees, cars, people.
  3. Make your home safe remove any antiques, sharp tools, cleaning liquids, … Etc you’re the best person to do this job.
  4. Encourage him if he doing well
  5. Don’t talk with him with violent words/tone
  6. Give him suitable chores like wiping the table, put clothes in the washing machine, get vegetables out from the fridge, to make him feel more convenient.
  7. Let him choose his clothes, shoes, food or books, to make it easier let him choose between 2 things which are suitable for you.
  8. Ask him for help, let him help you on his own and appreciate it
  9. Tell him stories with your voice not by apps before going to bed 🛌, screen time affects on his brain and don’t let him take his rest properly, and he can’t sleep well.
  10. Elemenate sugar in his meals and white flour too they are not healthy choices.

After working on this relationship between you and your kid he will be able to express his emotions and life will little bit easier than before .
Be patient as much as you can and remember his feelings is bigger than him and our role is teach him how to deal with it.
I know it is hard because we need to learn about our feelings too but we can did it. We deserve an easy life and we are willing to do any thing to achieve this goal.
I wish you Peacful mind and positive mindset .
