Bringing Back Childhood Memories with Date Pasta Flora Tart
One of my favorite childhood moments was when my mom was baking especially the jam tart, so when I remember the recipe and make it for my kids and they love it I feel like I traveled by time machine to my childhood.
I feel excited to share this recipe it is easy and don’t take much time
Time of preparation 20-30 min
Don’t forget to turn on your oven at 180° c
Dough Ingredients :
2 large eggs at room temperature
1 tsp of vanilla
1/3 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of oil/butter at room temperature
I prefer butter
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of ground oats
1 tbsp of baking powder
For filling
200 gm of date paste
1 tsp of cinnamon
50 gm of roasted sesame seeds
I made this recipe with a food processor if you have it go on if you don’t you can mix it by your hand
I put dry ingredients first and mix them then add eggs finally add butter until the dough becomes a ball
- If the dough becomes more sticky you can add some flour
- If it becomes more hard texture add some oil
Then wrap it with cling film and put it 10min in the freezer
In a pan 26″ – 28″ roll out 2/3 of the dough with a rolling pin then use a fork to make tiny holes, put the 1/3
In a bowl mix the date paste and cinnamon, and sesame then put this on the dough
Finally, grate the frozen dough on top then bake it for 20min until takes golden color.
My little kid loves it more, it is a healthy snack, you can cut it into bites and take it in your bag or your kid’s lunch boxes.
